San Franciscans, this one’s for you. Next Saturday head to Giant Robot for Caroline Hwang’s new solo art show, Salvage. If you don’t know Caroline Hwang’s work, you ought to. It’s sweet and sad and hopeful and I guarantee you’ll see a bit of yourself in each of her pieces. The Brooklyn-based artist paints on fabric and uses embroidery and quilting to create beautiful work that deals with love, loss, healing, and all the associated complexities. You’ve probably seen her work in Bust, read about her in Paper, or maybe you’ve even done the pillow craft she designed for Adorn. She’s a busy gal, be sure to keep her an eye on her.
