Are You a Sewing Whiz? Here’s Your Chance to Be On TV!

by Maggie Carr

Are you a fantastic sewer, sewist, or seamstress on your nights and weekends? Would you rather spend 100 hours making a dress than 100 bucks buying one? Do you constantly rip apart your thrift store finds and turn them into your own unique fashion statements?  Have you created wedding dresses for friends, pants for yourself, or even costumes for Comic-Con?

If so, don’t miss this opportunity to show off your skills…on TV!

The Sewing Bee, an adaptation of the U.K. smash hit The Great British Sewing Bee, is beginning production for a major U.S. cable network. They’re seeking New York tri-state area men and women to take part in a pilot for this brand-new amateur sewing competition television series.

Each week a group of all-new amateur sewing enthusiasts will face off in unique challenges that put their sewing and design skills to the test.  Expert judges, made up of fashion industry heavyweights, bespoke tailors and sewing professionals, will scrutinize every creation and name each week’s winner.

If you’re at home behind a sewing machine and you know your godets from your gussets, send an email and a current picture ASAP to [email protected]. The application period closes soon, so do it now!

You may just be named one of America’s best home sewers!
