Another SX blog post!

by Susan

Whew, SXSW is kind of the most exhausting thing ever. I even lost my voice today. Not only is there so much to see and do and you always feel like you are missing something, but there’s also a lot of stress and pressure to meet people and make moves. Yesterday was really intense, Sara and I headed up the BUST tables for two major events. One was at Bird’s, which is basically the raddest barbershop ever, and featured some hip bands and was full of hip people, with hip hair. It was packed all day and everything was free! In the evening we headed over to the Mohawk for the Secretly Canadian/Jagjaguwar/Dead Oceans event featuring Akron/Family, Women, and a very special secret guest (DINOSAUR JR.!) but I will leave the music posting up to Sara later today and tomorrow. The best part about SXSW is Austin itself, the food and the weather cannot be beat. I ate tacos for breakfast-and it was only $1.50! Later I am hopefully making it to Iron Works for some famous BBQ ribs ! There is a reason everything is bigger in Texas. Hopefully I can bike all this off, did I mention I rented a bike? I’m really excited for this evening, there is going to be a super secret screening of an amazing documentary called ‘Todd P Goes to Austin ‘ at the foot of the pedestrian bridge on Lamar. It follows bands (like Mika Miko , The Death Set , Ninjasonik and tons more) and promoter Todd Patrick on his yearly trip down to SXSW to throw free, all ages shows where the objective is to show really great music, not just for pure networking/marketing purposes. Check the trailer after the jump!

Anyway, come and check out the flick if you are around, if not, stay tuned to the BUST blog for more updates, pics, videos, music and more! This afternoon I am off to check out the Craftster.org and Standard Recording event featuring some silk screening demos-cannot wait!
