An Uncommonly Beautiful Jewelry Workshop at the BUST Christmas Craftacular, London

by Victoria Woodcock

I’ve been a big fan of Kirsty Kirkpatrick’s Uncommonly Beautiful range of upcylced jewelry for a number of years; I own several pieces and I’m always super-pleased to see her stall at the London BUST Craftacular. “The label is an anti-land fill fashion accessory label,” founded by Kirsty in June 2006. She pieces together vintage elements into modern designs – sometimes subtle and delicate, sometime big and bold. More recently, her designs have included discarded wooden furniture, which forms the base material for Kirkpatrick’s bright screen-printed and laser-etched patterns.

And at this year’s BUST Christmas Craftacular in London on December 14 fans of her creations are in for a real treat, in the form of a jewelry-making workshop run by  the talented designer. Participants will have the chance to create a bracelet using hand-sourced vintage gems, chandelier glass, brooches, chains and beautiful details, while learning a number of jewelry-making skills – including how to fasten links and wire beads. The workshop takes place from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m – the perfect post-shopping  activity, just grab a drink from the bar first!

The class costs £15 and tickets can be bought online in advance here. Don’t miss out: places are limited!
