On Sept. 14, Amy Winehouse will receive a birthday gift only fit to honor the legend on what would have been her 31st birthday. The late singer is being immortalized in bronze by Scott Eaton (a Jeff Koons collaborator) for Stables Market, in her Camden hometown.

We at BUST have always been huge Amy fans. From her timeless voice and style to her incredible spirit, Amy has become an icon. Amy’s father even told The Guardian that the Camden council usually must wait 20 years after someone’s passing to commemorate them in the form of a statue; for Amy, however, the council was more than willing to make an exception.
Hopefully the statue will live up to its model, who still lives in the hearts of fans everywhere. With or without this amazing commemoration, I know we’ll never forget Amy.
