Amy, Amy, Amy, you can absolutely do no wrong with me. Amy, you’re such a funny woman, you star in the NBC show Parks and Recreation, your Ask Amy webisodes makes me feel like I’m never alone, you’re besties with Tina Fey, you’re writing a book (which is going to be majorly awesome), and now you’re starring in the new Pixar film, Inside Out? Girl, you’re simply THE BEST!
This exciting news about the film was released at Disney’s D23, which is basically like Disney’s version of Comic-Con. At D23, Inside Out producer Jonas Rivera, and director Pete Docter, who’s known for Pixar’s Up, gave a brief description for the film that’s set to release in 2015.
Inside Out is a film that showcases the plethora of emotions a mother, father, and their 11-year-old daughter, Riley experience after the family’s big move from Minnesota to San Francisco. Her emotions Fear, Anger , Disgust, Joy, and Sadness have a miscommunication, come to blows, and attempt to work with each other. While Riley’s parents try to figure out what’s wrong with their little girl, the collection of emotions tries to keep Riley strong through this new transition.
Poehler will be playing the character Joy, simply because she’s one of the most joyful people out there. As Vulture cites, Poehler will be joined by Bill Hader playing Fear, Mindy Kaling being Disgust, Lewis Black as Angry (quite fitting), and The Office alum, Phyllis Smith as Sadness.

Doesn’t Amy’s character look so gosh darn cute? I mean look at how she just radiates joy! I think that Poehler is absolutely perfect for this role, and I can’t wait to hear her voice in this. I’m also very excited to hear Mindy Kaling, a BUST favorite, in this role as well. As much as I love her on The Mindy Project, I miss hearing her one-liners as Kelly Kapoor.
I’m pretty eager about this film, mainly because it has an intriguing plot, and I want to see how Rivera and Docter piece this together. I mean, Up made me sob practically 10 minutes into the film, so I’m positive that I’m going to have a river of tears on my face for Inside Out. And it’s all be your fault, Amy, because you’re such a beautiful, talented goddess!
