Album Review: Allah-Las|Allah-Las

by Dre Grigoropol

This Los Angeles based quartet does an impressive representation of 60s-era psychedelic, garage rock creating a unmistakable nostalgia all the way. This self-titled album debuts on September 18, 2012, and will be released by Innovative Leisure. Allah-Las does a great job mimicking bands of the 60s-era such as the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and Cream. The guitar playing is tight and dreamy, but nothing virtuoso. Their songs will have listeners California dreamin’. The effect of their fuzzy reverb pedals and layered echos will make you want to dance in a technicolored mini skirt at a retro themed luau. Don’t forget to bring your surfboard and spread the positive vibrations. Find out more about Allah-Las at their website: www.allah-las.com, and check out their new video Busman’s Holiday.
