Comedian Jessica Delfino Brings a Guitar and a Rape Whistle to Company Picnic TONIGHT!

by Intern Christina

Got the city blues?  Escape them tonight with a new comedy and variety show, Company Picnic, and you won’t even have to leave the island. Although the lineup looks a little sausage fest-y, it’s more of an eclectic buffet of some of the best comedy in the city, and the best dish is musical.

Comedian Jessica Delfino is a guitar-playing, hilarious-joke-telling, do-it-all performer, as well as a critically acclaimed and award-winning musician who has performed her cheeky comedy songs everywhere from Good Morning America to the U.K.’s Reading and Leeds Festivals. Plus, she’s known to use a rape whistle as accompaniment in her act. Who wouldn’t want to see this comedy rock star take the stage?

Most recently, Jessica created the NY Funny Songs Fest, a four-day-long musical comedy extravaganza. If you’re a comedy muscian, too, you should check out NYFSF’s coalition page to deliver news about related opportunities and events to your Facebook newsfeed.

If you just can’t wait until the 2013 NYFSF, come on down to the Ace Hotel (20 W. 29th St. in Manhattan) at 8PM tonight to catch her sassy and silly act. But beware: Jessica’s comedy songs are so catchy that a tune might, in her words, “latch itself to your brain.” You know what? We really wouldn’t mind.

Check out a clip of her recent performance at Philly’s Union Transfer below. Her impressions of Jewel and Joni will make you giggle, but plug in those headphones if you’re at work, why don’t you?
