While looking for videos under search terms like “how to dance at a beach party” and “how to be an impressive dancer at cool parties”, I ran into this little gem. (Note: I am not going to the beach this weekend, or cool parties for that matter.) It’s the trailer for 1965 cult classic/B-movie Beach Girls and the Monster. Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a 31% rating; a critic described it as “so bad, it’s just bad.” All the more reason to watch it with the people you love. According to the trailer, the film is full of ‘laughing, singing, surfing, sinning,’ as well as ‘beach party lovers making hey-hey in the moonlight.’ If that’s not enough to entice you, then I give up.
I hope to spend my Fourth of July weekend watching Beach Girls and the Monster in its entirety and avoiding friends who, in their drunken passion for the country’s adoption of the Declaration of Independence, think it’s a fantastic idea to throw lit fireworks at people. (It really hurt.)
