A Music Summer Camp For Grown-Ups, Led By Women

by Intern Ginny

A few weeks ago when we let you know about an awesome music camp for girls that takes place in New York this summer, I was jealous. “We need that for adults!” I thought. If you had a similar reaction, then you are in luck. The Music Masters Camp Series just announced its first Women’s Music Summit, which will take place this summer at the Full Moon Resort in New York’s Catskill Mountains from August 27 through 31.

The summit is a five-day vacation where attendees of any skill level go to workshops, classes, Q&A panels, and jam sessions led by talented female musicians. So far the counselor list includes Meshell Ndegeocello, Kaki King, Melissa Auf der Maur, Marnie Stern, Malina Moye, and Bibi McGill. Outside of music events, visitors can swim, cook, practice yoga, ride horses, or hike, all surrounded by the idyllic landscape of the resort.

Though I imagine the price (anywhere from $999 up to $2,480, based on the housing you select) may hinder many of us from going, it still sounds like a rad event for anyone who can manage to attend!
