Word to the wise… Before it’s too late, check out one of my all time favorite artist of our generation at the Whitney (closes Feb. 3, 2008). The first full-scale American museum survey of the work of artist Kara Walker: My Complement, My Enemy, My Oppressor, My Love features works ranging from her signature black-paper silhouettes to film animations to more than 100 works on paper. And if you’re not in NYC, the exhibition will travel to the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (March 2-June 8, 2008).
