The Hotness: BUST’s Top Pop Culture Picks For Fall

Deochii’s tour, Stranger Things returns, Yoko, Neko and more..

1.  Stranger Things Season 5 on Netflix

Welcome back to the Upside Down. We haven’t seen Eleven, Will and the rest of the gang since 2022, so you may want to rewatch the previous seasons to refresh your memory. The final season and the final battle begins Nov 26th and will be in two parts with the second part coming out on Christmas. Hopefully we will get maximum Winona screen time and more classic lines like “She’s our friend and she’s crazy.”

2. Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind

This retrospective follows Ono’s career from the 1950’s and shows over 200 works varying from performance footage, recordings, film, photography, installations and other materials from her archives along with multiple interactive pieces. Do not miss this epic exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago running from Oct 18, 2025–Feb 22. Get tickets at visit.mcachicago.org.

3. Neko CaseNeon Grey Midnight Green

We haven’t been blessed with new music from Neko Case since 2018 and finally the wait is over. The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is dropping her ninth LP on Epitaph Records Sept 28th and will be hitting the road on a supporting tour this fall. Head over to nekocase.com for tour dates.

4. TINĀ

Staring Anapela Polataivao (from Our Flag Means Death) this drama about a grieving mother who takes a job at a very elite, predominantly white school and ends up starting a choir in the school using her Samoan musical traditions is a beautiful look at grief and the power of a teacher.  She grows, the kids grow, you will cry. In theaters this September.

5. Doechii Live From the Swamp

Get anxiety because this will sell out. The Grammy Award Winning rapper is starting her 12 stop tour in Chicago Oct 14th. The Swamp Princess has made a name for herself with her absolutely jaw dropping performances so head over to iamdoechii.com to see if you can snag a ticket.
