The Knocks & Dragonette: A BUST Review

Seeking a spring awakening? Spin the two new singles from dance collabo-extraordinaires The Knocks and Dragonette. The first, “Revelation,” beams in with a retro-futurist synth arpeggio like an ’80s PSA, with a triumphant chorus befitting Aquariua, the song’s drag muse. It’s a bop reminding us that dancing is one of the best remedies to counterbalance mortality. Their follow-up, “The Hero,” moves more slowly, an iridescent R&B ballad with phased-out drums. Colorful and anthemic, the two singles bring big bright ear candy served in personal dance-party-size doses. Recommended to fans of Robyn, Sofi Tukker, or Carly Rae Jepsen’s more art-house pop numbers.
