  1. The World According to Allee Willis 

You may not know the name Allee Willis but you have definitely heard the theme song from Friends and “Boogie Wonderland.” The Grammy winner Tony- and Emmy-nominated songwriter, and art director isn’t a household name but she was definitely a true individual who should be known. She filmed her life starting in the ’50s in Detroit and this documentary combines her personal videos and interviews with greats like Pee-wee Herman, Cyndi Lauper, Patti LaBelle, and Lily Tomlin. Don’t miss this doc about the colorful, queer, and iconic Willis when it drops on Prime and other streaming platforms November 22.

  1. Laid on Peacock 

Stephanie Hsu plays a woman who finds out that her past sex partners are all dying in mysterious ways. Of course, she thinks her pussy is cursed. GirlsZosia Mamet plays her best friend who is dedicated to figuring out why these dudes are dying and loves a good sex-partner crime board, complete with a blowjob overlay. These women are low-key the worst but that is what makes them very relatable. Watch what goes down when you fuck around December 19.

  1. Get Away

This is a slow burn, a very slow burn, but stick with it because the end is a wild, wild ride. Maisie Ayres crushes it in this family vacation horror. A family trip to a remote Swedish island takes a dark and deadly turn when they find out there is a mysterious ritual going on and there may be a killer on the island. In theaters December 6.

  1. Zora Neale Hurston The Life of Herod the Great

Written in the 1950s as a continuation of Moses, Man of the Mountain, this never-before-published novel by legendary writer Zora Neale Hurston is set to release on her birthday January 7.

  1. Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary on NBC

Make a plate of Schweddy Balls and let’s celebrate the women who have brought tears of laughter to our eyes for 50 years as cast members on SNL. Welcome to the Women’s Army Corps. The Six Triple Eight tells the true story of the first and only Women’s Army Corps of color to serve overseas in WWII. Starring Kerry Washington as Major Charity Adams Earley, the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion—yeah, they dealt with the mail, but they also dealt with sexism, racism, and so much more. Stream these forgotten heroes December 20s.
