Amy Schumer Reveals That Her First Sexual Experience Wasn’t Consensual

by Kailey Thompson

Funny woman Amy Schumer revealed in an interview with Marie Claire that her first sexual experience “was not a good one.” She revealed to the magazine that when she lost her virginity at age 17, it wasn’t consensual. She added that, at the time, she didn’t realize what had happened.

“I didn’t think about it until I started reading my journal again,” Schumer said. “When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway. It was like, And then I looked down and realized he was inside of me. He was saying, ‘I’m so sorry’ and ‘I can’t believe I did this.’”

Schumer added that the man is no longer in her life and she doesn’t feel like a victim.

“This was 17 years ago. There are just so many factors,” she said. “I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying, ‘No, stop,’ and it was just completely ignored.”

Fortunately, Schumer seems to be happy in her current relationship with Ben Hanisch.

“I feel like Ben is the first guy who’s really been my boyfriend,” Schumer said. “There are guys who, if they heard me say that, would want to punch me in the face, but yeah, it’s the truth.”
