Deja Taylor is not your average performer. At only 19 years old, she is an award-winning spoken word artist, a playwright and will be featured in a 2009 HBO Documentary about youth slam poetry.
She’s also not afraid to step up for causes she believes in. Deja recently joined forces with DJ Spooky to produce a video for NARAL Pro-Choice’s free.will.power. initiative. Power is the third video in a three-part series that takes a fresh look at what it means to be pro-choice today.
The free.will.power initiative represents NARAL Pro-Choice America’s ongoing efforts to incorporate technology into its work and engage a younger generation in reproductive rights activism. Here’s another video from the series, Free, with fierce spoken word by Shira Erlichmann.
