7 Ways to Get Crafty This Fall

by Katie Fustich

Fall is in the air, my friends! That is to say…I am officially wearing a sweater because it is actually chilly out and not because I only own cardigans! There is something about this seasonal change that always gives me a little creative boost. The laziness and slowness of summer officially give way to an inner desire to become Martha Stewart. So enough with these metaphors! Let’s get to the good stuff and make cute things out of felt!!!

1.) Wool iPhone Sleeve

I wasn’t joking about the felt thing! These take only a few minutes to make and super customizable, so get creative, yo!

2.) DIY Elbow Patches

See? There IS a fun solution to make every clearance-rack sweater look like you bought bought it at J. Crew. Let the classiness commence!

3.) Felt Slippers

Warning: if you are related to me/know me/have been within five feet of me, you will probably be receiving these things for Christmas.

4.) Knitted Cowl

Cowls are always quick knits that are perfect for someone who is just learning. Pick up those needles, gurl!

5.) Felt-Bead Necklace

This looks like the world’s cutest, squishy caterpillar, so make it. MAKE TEN.

6.) Pinecone Garland

Yeah, it’s cheesy…but undeniably adorable and will make your home smell like a mystical wood.

9.) Crocheted Boot Toppers

Spice up last year’s (or in my case, last-last-last year’s) boots!

So there you have it, people. Your life will soon be a living, breathing Pinterest board. Happy crafting!

(Um…also…psst! The Fourth Annual BUST Craftacular at World Maker Faire is coming up on the 21st and 22nd!)
