For seven years, NBC’s The Golden Girls brought the fantastic lives of Blanche, Rose, Sophia, and Dorothy into our televisions. It has since passed down to our younger generation through syndication and popular culture.
Unlike many other shows featuring a group of women, the Golden Girls weren’t young twenty-somethings trying to figure out their lives, these were fifty (and eighty) somethings trying to figure out their lives. The show reminded us that women’s lives don’t just stop once their children are grown or if they are widowed/divorce.
