What Were You On Halloween?

by Kristina Uriegas-Reyes

I was a Pan Am Stewardess!

When it comes to Halloween, I’m no Heidi Klum, but thankfully I was able to whip up a costume using most things I already own. I wore a blue vintage dress, a blue and red Sunline Airlines scarf, and a recently bought cape that actually matched perfectly.

What really made the costume though was my Pan Am bag! When I saw it at a vintage store, I knew it would be perfect for a costume or even just to lug around my computer. I had been looking for a vintage blue hat with no result so I made my pill-box hat out of blue construction paper and stuck a Delta pin in it. It actually worked pretty perfectly. It was kind of hilarious how I ended up wearing about three different airlines…a Sunline scarf, Delta pins, and a Pan Am bag.

By the way, if you happen to be looking for a similar bag, you can get the Pan Am Explorer at Voguette.com

There are a few more pictures of my costume below, but I’d really love to see yours! Send me pictures of your costume this year and I’d love to post them! Email me at [email protected]

This is my roommate on the right. She was the hybrid child of Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf.
