If you've ever been attached to any TV show in your entire life, you've probably looked up the best TV kisses of all time to see if your favorite couple has made the list. Well, I spent a few hours (***highly recommend this research, BTW) watching the "best" TV kisses in history and, frankly, they're all the same. White man. White woman. Cisgender. Young. Yes, we all love the misadventurous romance between Friends' Ross and Rachel, as well as the spicy spontaneity of New Girl's Nick and Jess. But not every steamy TV kiss falls into the mayonnaise and saltines variety. So I pooled together a list of kisses that are just as hot, but a little more LGTBQIA and POC friendly. Enjoy!
10. Will and Jack, Will & Grace
Will and Jack were revolutionary characters in that they brought gay representation to mainstream network television and protested their own genre. The two lock lips to protest a network when two male characters on Jack's favorite TV show are supposed to kiss and the network pulls away.
9. Kurt and Blaine, Glee
We were all rooting for Kurt in this one — I mean, Darren Criss is just so pretty. Who wouldn’t root for someone to end up with him?! Glee had its ups and downs through its six-season run, but the best moments by far were with these two.
8. Kalinda and Lana, The Good Wife
The tension build-up between these two was exquisite. And then they fell in love! Skip to 10:25 in the video for a scene so steamy your glasses will fog up.
7. Annalise and Eve, How to Get Away With Murder
Surprise! Annalise plays for both teams, and she's dating Dr. Jean Grey from X-Men! It seems that Famke Jansen has better chemistry with Viola Davis than she ever did with Hugh Jackman or James Marsden (Wolverine and Cyclops, respectively).
6. Dylan and Marco, Degrassi: The Next Generation
Skip to 1:25 for Dylan and Marco's fat smooch. It's very spontaneous and passionate. **Swoons**
5. Lena and Stef, The Fosters
This wedding was truly magical. "I accept you. Every single thing that makes you who you are. I love you."
4. Alec and Magnus, Shadowhunters
This kiss is so steamy, it has inspired many a fanfic from dedicated viewers.
3. Shaw and Root, Person of Interest
She was a cop, she was a brainiac. They were perfect. This kiss is equally heartbreaking and romantic.
2. Ruby and Dorothy, Once Upon a Time
I know, I know. Once is so out there, now. But this kiss, the one that brought Dorothy back to life and inspired tears from Snow White? Come on! There's no doubt it doesn't deserve to be here.
1. Callie and Arizona, Grey’s Anatomy
This kiss was groundbreaking—it was all too rare to see such positive, open, interracial love between two women, and of course these two were one of the most successful couples the show had.
