Hi there, busty BUSTies. I can see from Google Analytics that search engines have led you to my roundup of boob-supportive swimsuits published in 2016. Since many of those swimsuits are no longer available, I decided to do a quick update here.
I’ve got pretty “heavy boobs,” as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend puts it, and spending hours in a swimsuit without good boob support can kill my neck/my back. When I finally got a swimsuit that offers bra-like support and is also incredibly cute (thanks GabiFresh X SwimsuitsForAll), I suddenly enjoyed going to the beach a whole lot more.
For this list, I chose suits that are explicitly made for DD+ cups and have thick, adjustable shoulder straps (halters=neck pain). I’m plus-size personally but I know that heavy boobs can be attached to bodies of all sizes, so I included both plus-size and straight-size brands here, as well as a variety of prices, styles, and level of coverage.
Because it's late in the summer, many of these suits may be sold out in certain sizes, but hopefully the brands and websites listed will give you a jumping-off point to find a swimsuit that makes you feel cute and doesn't give you back pain.
1. GabiFresh X SwimsuitsForAll Gravitron Underwire Swimsuit, $45.98
I can say from experience that GabiFresh X SwimsuitsForAll’s suits are both supportive and very cute. This suit, and most of the others in the collection, is available in D/DD to G/H cups and sizes 10-24.
Eloquii's swimwear, like the rest of their clothes, comes in sizes 12-28. Some have bra-style cups but don't come in bra-sizing, however, in their promotional materials Eloquii writes that most suits should work for cups sizes D to F. (If you're asking, "Where's Torrid?" their website states that their swimsuits work for cup sizes B through DD, so they're a good fit for smaller-busted plus-size people.)
3. SwimsuitsForAll Majesty Underwire Bikini, $58.50
SwimsuitsForAll’s main collection offers plenty of supportive, bra-sized swimsuit options as well. This one comes in DD, F or G cups with a band size of 36-46, and bottoms sizes 10-24.
4. Lepel London Lace-Up Swimsuit, $27
ASOS’s Fuller Bust range is a good place to look for supportive swimsuits. This one is available in sizes 30D-36I.
5. Elomi Plus-Size Malibu Days Plunge Bikini Top, $72; and Mid-Rise Bikini Bottom, $52
Bare Necessities is a go-to for larger cup sizes, and they also carry swimsuits. This option comes in band sizes 36-44, cup sizes DD-HH, and bottoms sizes 10-22.
6. Fantasie Paradise Bay Underwire Gathered Full Cup Bikini Top, $76, and Bottoms, $46
Like Bare Necessities, FigLeaves may be best known for their bras, but they also carry DD+ cup swimsuits in a variety of brands. This one comes in DD-HH cup sizes, 32-44 band sizes, and XS-XXL bottoms.
7. Lane Bryant High-Neck Swim Bikini Top With Built-In Bandeau Bra, $60.50-$70.50, and High-Waist High-Leg Swim Brief, $50.50
Lane Bryant’s swimwear collection goes up to an H cup, 46 band size, and 28 bottoms.
8. Bravissimo Amalfi Swimsuit, $104
Keep it sweet and simple with this bra-style swimsuit (which goes from DD-K cup, with size 30-40 bands) with six different color options.
Brit brand Curvy Kate offers bra sized swimwear up to a K (UK)/O (US) cup and 44 band, with bottoms up to a UK 22/US 18.
