Friend of BUST Tuesday Bassen has opened up her own store in Los Angeles, and we could not be more excited to see her amazing designs on W. Sunset Boulevard. Bassen is an illustrator and designer and, prior to opening up her shop, sold her classic yet cheeky clothing items, zines, prints, accessories and home goods online at shoptuesday.com.
Her designs are simple but full of the personality that everyone needs in their wardrobe. Various items currently on sale are her “Young Angry Women” shirts or her relatable “Mixed Emotions Club” jackets that give you the confidence you need to strut your stuff.
Bassen's creative design process begins with drawings in her sketchbook of different characters. This process allows for her to gain inspiration for her real-life line. Writing on Twitter, Bassen says that “the clothes my characters are wearing are a good indication of what I wish I had.”
The Tuesday Bassen clothing line also focuses on body inclusivity in all of its designs. From underwear to sweatshirts, the brand makes sure that sizes XS to 5X are available. The website proudly states, “We make badass clothing for women in all sizes.”
In addition to emphasizing on body positivity, Tuesday Bassen concentrates on the importance of local and ethical production of items. The majority of the products are manufactured in a sweatshop-free sew house in Los Angeles. As the website states, “We do our best to ensure that our products are made in an ethical environment with high quality materials and always use post consumer, vintage, or locally produced materials first.” A company that creates adorable and responsible products? What more could you ask for!
