A 'Housewife' and Her Bedroom Kandi

Last Thursday night I stopped by the Soho branch of Toys in Babeland to help my friend Kiki do some holiday shopping, and to mostly lust after the Hitachi Magic Wand. I’m in love. Anyway, while I was browsing, I started talking to a curvy blond girl who worked there, and she gave me the deets for a Babeland event that same night--Kandi from the Real Housewives of Atlanta would be promoting her new line of sex toys with free champagne. She had me at "free champagne."

Kandi Burruss, the mind behind Bedroom Kandi, isn't just one of the stars of the Bravo Favorite, she was also part of the wonderful 90’s all female R&B group Xscape.  Ever hear “Little Secret”? [video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDHggk9NlN8 425x344]

Her line of sex toys that feature products like organic lube (that my friend ended up scoring for free, after she bought some condoms) and a vibrator that wirelessly syncs itself to your music and vibrates to your favorite freak ‘em jams. Kandi's also famous for her internet sex talk/video show "Kandi Koated Night,"on which she gives sex and relationship tips (it airs Wednesday nights on Ustream at 11:30 pm).

The event was mad cool. Though Babeland’s Soho location isn't huge, it was packed to the brim with women excited to meet a sex-positive idol. She answered questions about selling sex toys in the Bible belt, and told the audience that even friends of her mother used BK toys. I was slightly surprised with how empowering the event was, how candid people were with their questions and stories, and how ultra-friendly Kandi was.

Check out Bedroom Kandi if you're in the market for something fun and discreet like her lipstick vibe. And definitely trek to your nearest Babeland for events with free booze, gifts, and sometimes your fave lady celebs!
