Are you one of those people who wishes porn could be a little more cinematic? Well then we have a film festival for you.

Kicking off this Saturday, Good Vibrations’ 6th Annual Indie Erotic Film Festival out in San Francisco plans to celebrate smut in all its forms. From gay to straight, kinky to romantic, the films in the festival always keep things sex positive. The weeklong festival features films on the gay porn industry, queer sexual desire and best selling author Susie Bright’s How To Read a Dirty Movie.

Over the last six years, Good Vibrations has broadened the idea of “erotic cinema” with the film festival. Highlighting the work of indie directors who are pushing the envelope. The Bay Area sex shop has also taught people a few things in the ways of sex.  If you believe Trojan’s (yep, the condoms) study that San Franciscans have an average of 30 sexual partners, the highest in America, then it’s hard not to believe they’re doing some damn good teaching.

On September 22, the fest closes with the international short film festival at The Castro. Hosted by renowned drag queen Peaches Christ and Dr. Carol, Good Vibration’s own staff sexologist, the night features films that are seven minutes or less.  The winner, picked by the very official clap meter, wins $1,500.
