Known as the most painterly process, the monoprint is uniquely different from all printmaking processes. The image can only be printed once, resulting in a series of multiple originals.
Participants will create printed paintings using plexiglass plates, printed on our portable press, and Gelli plates, printed by hand.
This salon will explore the healing power of hypnosis and sound as inspired by its oldest use in the ancient sleeping temples of Egypt and Greece. Hypnotist Shauna Cummins @thewishcraft and musician Erika Spring @erika_spring (both resident healers at Mahal Rose) will recreate a soothing and healing ambiance of music and words the experience will evoke the sleeping temples and create an inspiring space to connect to your dream life, using your imagination as medicine and music as a portal.
Learn to knit with your arms! in this beginner workshop, you'll learn to make ultra-chunky knits using your own arms as knitting needles! You won't believe how quickly you can whip up a finished piece--you'll make a cowl or scarf, and the knowledge to tackle more arm knitting projects on your own.
We will provide yarn, but you may also bring your own chunky yarn if you wish (you will need 4 skeins).
Taught by Brooklyn Craft Company.
