My favorite festival out there, NYC Popfest, is coming up this May 19th-22nd, Thursday-Sunday for their exciting 5th year anniversary! Since 2007, NYC Popfest has brought New York City some of the best indie, twee, fuzzy, and jangly pop acts around. From past year's The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and The Drums to the lesser known, but certainly buzzworthy bands, Allo Darlin' and Cats On Fire, the collaborators certainly know how to pick 'em!

This year, some of my favorite bands playing are Go Sailor, The Hairs, Dream Diary, and The Specific Heats (unfortunately their last show)! The full lineup is listed here. If some of the names are foreign to you, don't worry, just head over to the NYC Popfest blog for samples of some of the awesome bands playing. Popfest is about seeing your favorite pop bands and discovering ones you've never heard before. I've had so many awesome memories of meeting pop kids and making friends from all over the world. Don't even get me started on the dance parties that follow. I can't wait!

(Oh yeah and btw, you crazy kids in San Francisco, CA and Athens, GA have got awesome Popfests as well so be sure and check them out!)
