I've lost my marbles for Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears!!! This past weekend, I had the distinct pleasure of getting shot with a beautiful dose of cinematic glam rock when I was introduced to the sound of Brooklyn based band, Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears.
Led by Brian Scary, the band's sound is reminiscent of Queen, The Beatles and Bowie, and also super theatrical like the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Each member was dressed like a character from an old horror film, and even the Union Pool stage was decked out with a spooky forest back drop. Friends of mine in the opening band, My Revolver, had warned me that I'd go nuts for them, but I had no idea that one third of the way into the first song that I'd be in the front row having a total geek out.
Organs, top hats and lab coats! Oh my! I've never felt so inspired to buy a fog machine! These days, it's not too often that you stumble upon all around entertainers, but these boys put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
Grab your white face makeup and get to Scaryville, you won't want to leave.
