Toronto-based shoegaze band Vallens’ new song “Dark Tunnel” is a moody track off of their upcoming Twin Peaks inspired album. The band’s lead singer, Robyn Phillips, says she is inspired by the atmosphere of the show and “buries it inside heavy guitars and synths.” On “Dark Tunnel”, that feeling is evident as she sings over a wave of sound reminiscent of the show’s tone of melancholy. It’s an essential listen for fans of David Lynch’s acclaimed series and for anyone whose fingers are always on the pulse of new music.
Vallens recently played NXNE and has been touring Toronto. Robyn also plays in Beliefs, and both bands are signed to Hand Drawn Dracula.
