The 28-year-old Swedish pop star Elliphant, aka Ellinor Olovsdotter, released her debut album, A Good Idea in October of 2013 after developing her musical style during a summer spent listening to bass music in the U.K.
Although she's new to the scene, with her new Skrillex-produced track "Only Getting Younger," Elliphant has dropped a bomb everyone. With lyrics like,"Walk around with bloody hands/I saw ya lick it off," she's like a violent M.I.A., mixing elements of house, hip hop, and pop.
At the end of September, Elliphant will tour with the British pop star Charli XCX. Starting in Florida, the two will hit Webster hall October 7th and San Francisco on Oct 25th, making stops at venues like D.C.'s 9:30 Club, and Austin's Emo's en route.
In the words of Elliphant, "Fuck tomorrow, we're only getting younger."
