Don't lie – "Rebel Girl" was an important part of the soundtrack at your angriest teenage sleepover. Le Tigre helped initiate that tenacious (and in retrospect, highly dubious) clubbing phase. And now, some twentysomething years down the road, you're digging The Julie Ruin. You've gotten older, sure – but has Kathleen Hanna?

I don't think so! In addition to retaining her particular knack re: wearing-the-hell-out-of-a-printed-shift, Ms. Hanna's latest punk rock endeavor, The Julie Ruin, continues to churn out the hits. The band's new single ("Goodnight, Goodbye") lands this week. You can find the video below, filmed in a sepia Super 8. (As if you needed more proof that the lingering empress of Riot Grrrl is a time traveler.)  The band has also released tour dates:

And as for Ms. Hanna's delicious wail, tempered with a near-saccharine sweetness? The shoutalong choruses that went so well with midnight drives in your borrowed Avalon? All that's intact, too. So...may she live forever.

Bonus: check out this great feature from a recent New Yorker about Bikini Kill's rise to the forefront of all spectacular things.
