Good luck not bawling your eyes out watching the A Wrinkle In Time trailer that dropped during the American Music Awards — because really, you’re going to cry the most gloriously happy tears. The trailer may only be about two minutes long, but that’s as long as I could handle being that happy anyway. The cast lineup alone is jaw-dropping: Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, and Storm Reid, just to name a few.

The trailer itself does a wonderful job spiking the interest of longtime A Wrinkle In Time fans, as well as newcomers to the story. The audience gets an exciting glimpse into the planet-hopping, storm-chasing, world-saving multi-verse of A Wrinkle In Time. The story itself follows student Meg Murry on an epic adventure to save her lost father, through wrinkling time and traveling across the universe. Storm Reid will play Meg in the 2018 adaptation, and her portrayal of the nerdy, life-saving teenager seems spot on and all the #blackgirlmagic. Literally, because everything in this trailer/movie is magic. That, on top of the fact that this means director Ava DuVernay will break the bank with A Wrinkle In Time’s production budget of $103 million dollars — becoming the first black woman director to make a movie with a budget of that size. So A Wrinkle in Time has black women making money and making magic? Yes and yes.
