To all the West Coasters who missed out on this past weekend's amazing BUST Holiday Craftacular -- don't fret! It's almost your turn. This Saturday, December 12, BUST will be rolling into the Echo and the Echoplex for yet another awesome day of crafty goodness at the LA Craftacular. And get this -- LA's own Freshly Baked will be selling a special BUST Cookie Box with peanut butter chocolate pretzel (on view to your left), dark chocolate cherry, root beer float, and oatmeal blueberry white...

A few weeks ago a friend told me about a Velvet Underground reunion at the New York Public Library on Dec. 8th. Now when you say a band is having a reunion, the first thing that everyone thinks is “show!” And that’s what several of us thought, judging by this somewhat confusing listing, but it was actually a talk with Lou Reed, Maureen Tucker and Doug Yule, hosted by David Fricke, long time writer for Rolling Stone. Luckily it turned out to be...

Bagels are way too scrumptious for their own good, but this one's to get fresh and clean, not for eating. Los Angeles-based Bubble Genius makes these fun n’ quirky soaps, from skulls to Legos, that are vegan and environmentally-friendly. But it’s their food and drink soaps (like the bagel soap pictured above) that look delicious and super real. These would make both practical and kickass stocking stuffers. You can find these lovely soaps at the Los Angeles Craftacular this coming weekend. As a little reminder,...
If you were one of the hundreds who made it out to this years Craftacular in NYC, you'll probably agree that it was the best BUST event to date! Not only did the masses get to peruse the greatest handmade items this side of the Mississippi, there were tons of free goodies and charitable causes represented as well. The morning kicked off with free coffee from Joe and goodie bags chuck full of special gifts for the first 500 peeps through the door. From jewelry to...

One more time for the back row -- this Sunday is BUST's Holiday Craftacular in NYC, and if you haven't already cleared your calendar for that day, you better get on it. Top 5 reasons to come to the Craftacular: 1) Over 200 vendors will be selling their awesome handmade wares -- and it's the present-giving time of year. 2) Free stuff! We have gift bags for the first 500 attendees, coffee from Joe's, and other assorted snacks. Who doesn't love free stuff? AND the Treats Truck...

For the past couple months, I have lived and breathed the BUST Holiday Craftacular.  Helping our fearless leader, the adorable-blue-eyed-badass to my left, with vendor maps, spreadsheets, and everything she needs. During the back-end process, I came across many-a-crafter.  BUT I must say, one of the crafters I am most excited about is Lillian Crowe (table 127).  Her beautiful, brass bone and gut necklaces are my dream come true.  Not to get too deep on ya, but I am a published poet. my writing tends...

Spied this on my way to work this am, this goes out to all our crazy friends,  you know who you are! xo...

One of the best parts of my job at BUST is that I get to meet and work with all kinds of cool artists and photographers. Today I was searching for a shooter in New Orleans, and my good pal Sally recommended Brady Fontenot. I was pretty much sold on this image alone! It's great, isn't it?...

This year I've decided to go all out for the month of December so I've been spending a lot of time looking at unique, crafty, holiday decorations. Sass&Peril's Doughnut Ornaments totally caught my eye! Since I like to incorporate food into every aspect of my life, I think these would be perfect. But I'm pretty sure I'll be finding more than enough new treats at the BUST Holiday Craftacular this Sunday. If you're in New York and looking for the perfect way to kick off...

AND because my throbbing blueballs hurt for this Sunday (the annual BUST Holiday Craftacular in NYC. DUH). These  blueballs can only be satisfied by sneaking online.  There, I look at a plethora of indie, handmade ware in the privacy of a dark bedroom.  Sweet relief. Until Sunday, at least, when I get to go all the way.  One of the crafters that really gets me going is Ink and Wit.  Her prints, notecards, and invitations are simply beautiful.  I can't wait to stalk her booth...
