Over the last ten episodes, the ladies of RuPaul’s drag race made us laugh, made us cry, made us know fierce.  And while they learned from Ru, they taught us about teamwork, self-respect, and how to make your country outfit really transition with a rip-away skirt.  On Monday, a new drag superstar was born.  Tyra Sanchez was the controversial choice for queen of the queens, and below, she lets us know she’s here.  Work. Your hair looks GREAT.  Where do you get your look? My...

<--- He's a winner! I'm not really into sports.  And I'm not really into Nike either.  And I don't really pay that much attention to sports endorsements BUT when Nike endorses sexual assault offenders even I'm like, "What the hell, Nike?  You managed to not meet the exceedingly low expectations I have for you." Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a 572-page Georgia Police report filed against him, two women accusing him of rape, another woman accusing him of two counts of sexual assault and of...
We're still waiting for the new Hole record to arrive here at BUST HQ (??) so since it's out this week, and in the interest of punctuality, I've decided to re post our good friend and music columnist Everett True's in-depth (and funny) review of Courtney's latest Nobody's Daughter. Everett has successfully attempted to do a "live review" of the first time he laid ears on the CD. For more of the awesome Everett, you can check him out here or in the pages of...

Thank you, Peter Elkind, for wresting yet another freak show moment from the annals of Eliot Spitzerdom. In his new book, Rough Justice, Elkind quotes the former governor's wife as saying, "The wife is supposed to take care of the sex. This is my failing; I wasn't adequate." Does that not sound disingenuous to anyone else? Even for the Xanax-faced bride who stood by Spitzer in one of the best/worst press conferences ever. (Tiger, had you brought your wife to your conference, you might own this...
One thing that every Fashion Designer knows (and all aspiring designers should) is that making something that looks like a delectable piece of cake, usually isn’t. Tamar Daniel, designer and founder of Hokey Croquis, is making the creative process a little bit easier. Designers, leave some room amid your briefcase of swatch books and French curves for the Fashionflat Sketchpad. This handy little tool is a bound sketchbook for croquis illustrations; the simplified flats used in production and order forms. Rather than bothering...

Today's PETA ad in the Chicago Tribune has set off a maelstrom in the blogosphere. People just love to hate PETA. But for this? Because it's tacky? As opposed to what, the way these animals are treated? In playing the first character on TV to have an abortion, Arthur didn't exactly shy away from controversy in her lifetime. And that stone cold stare? Classic Bea/Maude. The fullpage ad explains everything, and not in fine print. Arthur supported PETA in her lifetime and left them a...

Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like: on Cinco de Mayo, 20 contenders, hoping to be named the best guac of the evening, will serve their mashed avocado creations to the attendees of Guactacular 2010 (presented by NachosNY.com) at the Bell House in Gowanus, Brooklyn. From 7-8, free Tecate and Dos Equos will be served. BUST’s own Lisa Butterworth will be one of the official judges of the guac along with Jess Amason of BuzzFeed/This is Why You’re Fat and Kelly Reeves of Urlesque. (Though,...

Kartina R., of This Moi blog, has an interesting post up today about lipstick, which she has allowed us to share with you. Lipstick is a fascinating thing. On Tuesday a New York  theater did not pick a play of mine to be a part of their one-act marathon. On Wednesday I felt sorry for myself. On Thursday a good thing happened to me. An accomplishment of sorts. On Friday I wore lipstick. On Saturday and Sunday I did as well. Bright. Red. Thick. Matte. Lipstick is not an unusual choice for...
Our cover boy Tracy Morgan, was on Jimmy Fallon last night and he was very funny, as usual. They talked about Tracy now being A-List and appearing on the cover of a magazine (ahem), as well as crying on the Oprah show. We're super stoked that Jimmy was as excited for Tracy's BUST cover as we are! Tracy made a great segue from the Astronaut suit to the crazy lady Astronaut who wore depends, god I love that story. Below is the clip, check us...
