Tamarack Farm

Tamarack Farm

About our farm

Tamarack Farm is located about 18 miles east of State College, PA, the location of Pennsylvania State University, in the beautiful Pennsylvania Appalachian valley and ridge region. Tamarack Farm covers about 30 hilly acres of pasture and woods just a few steps from Penns Creek, a well-known destination for fly-fishing. A long row of Tamaracks (Larix) grows on the hill as a backdrop to the farmhouse--hence the name of our farm.

We have been raising Icelandic, Tunis, and natural-colored Merino Sheep for over twenty five years! We have a colorful Icelandic flock with a full range of patterns and colors...

In addition to our sheep, we raise greens, vegetables, plants, and herbs for two local farmers' markets where we also sell retail cuts of lamb and lamb sausage. And, we have a flock of laying hens, some Icelandic of course, that produce multicolored eggs for market. As a new hobby, we've been working on growing our apiary! We harvested 36 pounds of honey in our first year!
