The Apocalipstix will rock you.
A slam-bam postapocalyptic action-hero fantasy for girls, one part Tank Girl and one part Josie and the Pussycats, it's the story of a band who manages to survive World War III and sets off on the road trip to end all road trips in search of the necessities of life--food, shelter, and roaring crowds.
Writer Ray Fawkes neatly turns rock'n'roll stereotypes on their heads, giving the girls the phallic symbols--guitars and guns--and turning the men into the squealing fans, and Cameron Stewart's art is sassy and vibrant.
The digest-sized volume from indie publisher Oni Press fits perfectly in a purse, and makes for great train reading, begging for a soundtrack of L7 and Joan Jett. Give them some love.
