Bust’s favorite Drag King, Murray Hill -"the hardest working middle-aged man in show business"- will be delighting us yet again this winter with his legendary Yuletide tradition: A Murray Little Christmas. This year Murray and his fabulous friends will be repping it old school, literally, while transporting the audience back to his childhood high school PS 0 (“zero”) to perform a holiday school recital. The chosen theme this year, as a celebration of the diversity of his audience, is that there is nothing wrong with being different, and if anything it’s a reason to put on a show!
To give you an idea of what audiences are in for, one of the ways Hill will be addressing this aptly chosen message will be with his re-creation of the story Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, which he will be performing while wearing a full-bodied plushie outfit.
In addition to the polyester-covered-gut busting antics of Murray Hill himself, this year’s cast will also include such very special guests as international burlesque legend Dirty Martini, bawdy songstress Bridget Everett, Bradford Scobie as Moisty the Snowman, Carmine Covelli as Sebastian the Elf, all lesbian a cappella group The Lesbian Overtones, and the whole show will be accompanied by live swinging holiday music from The Brian Newman Trio. Santa Claus is even scheduled to make an appearance!
This year’s recital is one not to be missed, if only for Hill in that plushie suit, so come check it out December 18th at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker St). The show is running one night only with two shows, one at 7:00pm and one at 9:15pm, so be sure to get your tickets soon!
Discounted tickets are also available at Murray’s website or through his twitter updates. For more information click HERE!
