Gasoline

I have been in love with Dame Darcy's Meatcake comics for years, so I was ecstatic to find out she is releasing a new graphic novel this month called 'Gasoline: A Rock and Roll Apocalyptic Fairytale.' If you haven't heard of Dame Darcy, she is a graphic artist, cartoonist and musician (and long-time contributor to BUST) who has acquired quite a cult following for her rollicking, gothic-Victorian comics. Gasoline is about two orphaned witches in a post-apocalyptic world and if it is anything like her previous work (think half Edward Gorey, half swashbuckling cabaret adventure) it is sure to be amazing. Dame Darcy will be having several events and readings around the country in honor of her new book, so be sure to check it out at Dame Darcy's website.
