Annette and Sue Amendola, sisters living in Brooklyn, New York, have been putting up a nativity scene in the lot next to their home for more than ten years. The real Christmas miracle, though, is the fantastic colony of feral cats that takes over the space annually. They curl up between the figurines and cuddle on the warm hay bale that serves as a manger and, duh, it's freakin' adorable.
According to the Amendola sisters, when they lay the baby Jesus in the manger every December 25th, the cats are quick to topple him over and claim the space for themselves. I'll have to write to Santa and make sure that doesn't mean they'll be getting coal for Christmas...
But coal or not, the cats have a toasty, safe lil' corner of the world to call their own. And if that doesn't warm the Secret Cat Lady in your heart, then I don't know what will!
