There is a new feminist support group in Los Angeles that is making major waves! The Women's Opposition Movement (WØM) is a non-profit collective in Northeast L.A., and they "aim to facilitate community action by bringing awareness to organizations that advocate for systematically underrepresented and disadvantaged areas of society, primarily benefiting women in Southern California."
WØM is currently organizing fundraising events, and for their first event of the new year, they're having a Valentine's Day Bingo to benefit Alexandria House on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 from 2-6 pm. Alexandria House is an organization in L.A. that provides safe and supportive housing for women and children as they transition from homelessness to stability.
Keep an eye on WØM's website for future events and other community education programs. WØM's mission is to "unite all forward-thinking members of our community in leveling the barriers of gender, class, and race" through their fundraisers and events.
