Gloria Steinem On The ERA - 'The American Dream Has Never Included Everybody': BUST Exclusive Clip

Feminists have been advocating for an Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution for almost A FULL CENTURY.

First proposed all the way back in 1923 by suffragists Alice Paul and Crystal Eastman, the ERA resurfaced in the late '60s and '70s thanks to the National Organization for Women, but in 2016, it still isn't a reality.

Recently, Gloria Steinem joined activists Jamia Wilson, Ai-jen Poo, Jennifer Pozner, Elizabeth Deutsch, Carol Robles Roman and Agunda Okeyo to talk about the ERA and the state of women's equality today. The talk is in support of the Fund for Women's Equality & ERA Coalition's upcoming event A Night Of Comedy With Jane Fonda, taking place on Sunday, February 7th at Carolines on Broadway.

"I do not think the American dream has ever included everybody," Gloria Steinem says. "It has never been, regardless of sex or race or ethnicity."

We're excited to premiere an exclusive clip from the talk on BUST.com today:
