Reproductive healthcare is not a political bargaining chip, it’s a necessity for everyone (yes men too). Planned Parenthood makes this necessity a reality for people who would otherwise not be able to afford these services.
It goes without saying that defunding Planned Parenthood would be a devastating step backwards for our country, but I’ll say it anyway, since my faith in humanity is still smarting from Friday.
DEFUNDING PLANNED PARENTHOOD WOULD BE A DEVASTATING STEP BACKWARDS FOR OUR COUNTRY!
Access to reproductive healthcare is every person’s right. So let’s get to it. Here’s what you can do even if you seriously only have 5 minutes before you have to do 80-hundred other things in your day.
1. Social Media
You’re already on your computer so take the time to follow Planned Parenthood on social media #StandwithPP. PP has tweets you can share from their website or you can share your personal story and tag them.
Don’t forget to pink out your profile picture and let every random person you ever decided to friend know that a cool person like you stands with PP!
2. Get Political
PP has all kinds of volunteer opportunities from writing grants to working with teens. Fill out their volunteer info sheet with your interests and availability and receive email notifications with your matches.
Make a monthly pledge or one-time donation to the cause. If you want it to be a little more exciting, pick up a t-shirt or create a fundraiser page you can share with friends and family to help reach your goal.
5. Pink Out
On Tuesdays we wear PINK. Tuesday Sept. 29 is Pink Out, a day to show the world you stand with PP. You can participate by wearing pink but if you want to take it to the next level, find a demonstration near you or share your story online.
