This just in-- award winning actresses Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski, and Audra McDonald broke the Internet late last night and continued to trend on Twitter through today. Why, you might ask? Well, they sung Stephen Sondheim’s “Ladies Who Lunch” on Zoom and basically summed up the entire mood of 2020.

Last night, musical theater stars came together for a special to celebrate beloved composer Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday. Titled "Take Me To The World: A Sondheim 90th Birthday Celebration," the event featured performances and appearances by some of the biggest names in Broadway including Bernadette Peters, Patti LuPone, Mandy Patinkin, Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, Aaron Tveit, and more. Don’t get us wrong, the other stars were fantastic. But the act that garnered the most attention and, quite frankly, stole the show was that of these three stars essentially just having the most iconic girls night of all time.

The trio sang “Ladies Who Lunch” from Sondheim's classic musical, Company. Call it what you will: a tribute to a great composer, a Tony Award Winning performance or a Mama Mia Reunion featuring Broadway legend Audra McDonald (because, why not?), it doesn’t matter. What matters is that Streep sassily making herself a martini, Baranski sipping on some red wine, and Mcdonald struggling to get a bottle of Vodka open on Zoom is just about everything we didn’t know we needed.

Needless to say, folks on Twitter completely and utterly lost their minds:

Hey, it’s the little things these days. And these three divas singing “Ladies Who Lunch” was just the sparkle of joy we needed to start this week. Now, can someone make a GIF of Meryl with her martini saying “I’m already drinking, dear” ? Thanks.
