In the battle to be the next Amy Winehouse two contestants have emerged as frontrunners.  In this corner, I give you Duffy: And in this corner, we have Adele:    Personally, I think Adele's kind of a snoozefest and Duffy's got the better chance at the title, but what do you think?  ...

I love the Black Keys, their latest record Attack and Release (Nonesuch) is amazing, here is the video for Your Touch. I think one of the reasons I love them so much is that singer Dan Auerbach sounds exactly like Paul Rodgers from the 70's band Bad Company. Below is a BC clip from 1975, check out the crop top and white bells, and those might just be clogs on his feet. YES!!  ...

I'm not a dog owner, nor do I play one on TV, but I'm obsessed with the Animal Planet show "It's Me Or the Dog." Partially it's because I'm a sucker for seeing dogs misbehaving adorably, but I also have a massive girl crush on the show's resident trainer, Victoria Stilwell. She's like a tiny package of cranky British sternness, administering verbal beatdowns to dog owners insane enough to do things like feed their pets ice cream cones every afternoon (an actual example). Stilwell...

As an unashamed Leslie Hall-ic, I often find myself scoping out her youtube channel for new videos, live performances, or episodes of Ring My Bell, Leslie's call in show where she chats and offers her wise advice to live callers while eating potato chips, discussing Midwest culture, and doing stretches...Watch and laugh for yourself. ...

I'm a little embarrassed to admit to watching American Idol, but it was really great having Dolly on the show tonight. Of course she is too nice to "judge anyone"-she is just so sweet you cant help but love her! And for once the kids did pretty good with their versions of her songs. Unfortunately my favorite "Coat of Many Colors" which always gets me a little verklempt, was sung by my least favorite, Kristy lee,  and it did not wow. Australian Michael was great,...
Has it been nearly a week since BUST's day party at SXSW?  It was hot, hot, hot...  everything from the bands, to the bad asses struttin’ their stuff, to the amazing Austin, Texas weather! It goes without saying that I was going to party it up, rock out to amazing music, and meet cool people from around the globe. We were all there to showcase, promote and fiercely work it! I managed to do all of this while having an incredibly fun time!! I'm still...

SXSW ended days ago and yet I think some of us are still recovering. It was a full week of bands, parties, swag, tacos and margaritas. The first night in we checked out the K Records showcase. The Blow was unsurprisingly and indescribably adorable. This was my 6th time seeing her live, and I don't know how she does it, but she manages to outdo herself every time.photo by irockirollOn Thursday while running errands around Austin, Adam purchased a sweet set of maracas. His plan...

sxsw was amazing! i needed a full day to bounce back from it, but amazing none the less. i saw some really great stuff and actually, i can say without any kind of bias at all that the BUST party was among the best. It was really, really awesome. So many nice people came out and umm, it would be a total oversight to not mention the effin outstanding mojito's. Grand Ole Party (DH Records), Yacht (Marriage & States Rights Records), Mika Miko (Kill...

I got home last night after the craze-o fun of SXSW, and I was only there for two days, I dont know how these kids do it! Mommy's is tired. Anyway, there were alot of tatoos, tube socks, beer, bands, spandex and booze. Here is a brief recap of what I saw: Started at the Kemado showcase and watched Children and the Sword, then headed over to the Kill Rock stars showcase and caught Telepathy. Next door was the amazing Does it Offend You Yeah...

This song has been stuck in my head for three days! Good thing it's awesome.  ...
