In today's New York Times, Kim Elsesser makes the case that the Academy Awards should get over their damn selves and blend all of the acting categories so there is no longer a "Best Actress" and a "Best Actor." It's not a new idea--feminists have been suggesting it for decades. But my feeling is: Who cares?
I just can't get worked up about this issue when I think about the fact that there have only been thirty-five women in the Senate. Ever. Where's the NYT editorial about that?
