Theroomdating.com is a real thing. The site for fans of the cult film looks as sketchy as it potentially may be. Once you create an account, you have the choices of connecting with boys, girls, of fans of The Room. From there, you can choose whether you’re there for friends, chatting, dates, fellatio, or vampire cutting, whatever that may be.
I say potentially sketchy because there is also a 3D chat function where you’re set in a 3D-rendered penthouse that overlooks an ocean, and naturally is complete with a voiceover of Tim Curry from the 1985 film Legend, who narrates: “Beneath the skin, we are already one. Was it not your sin that trapped the unicorn? Even now, the evil seed of what you’ve done germinates within you.” It’s a wild ride.
Tommy Wiseau, the eccentric star and director of The Room, recently told Vice that he’s still trying to promote the film in different ways, but wasn’t clear if this included the dating site.
