Adorable Racists Prussian Blue Are All Grown Up

by Intern Ariana

Do you remember the little girl group Prussian Blue? BUST covered them for our June/July 2005 issue, when they were all blonde hair, adorable smiles, and white supremacy. The band, which started way back in 2003, fell under the genre of “white nationalist pop.” Its front women, Lynx and Lamb Gaede, referred to the Holocaust as a “myth” during an interview with Vice magazine 7 years ago. They also had some questionable fashion sense, as evidenced by these tacky Hitler T-shirts.

Well, apparently THC can solve extremism and racism, because it worked its mellowing magic on the Gaede sisters. Now that the two are 19, they’ve allegedly rebranded themselves as “healers,” thanks to the liberal use of medical marijuana. According to The Daily Mail, they now “love diversity” and are “pretty liberal.” Now, that’s quite the turnaround.

When Prussian Blue started going to public school in northwest Montana (and left their extremist mother’s home schooling) and were exposed to “so many different cultures,” their outlook broadened. The medical Mary Jane they started taking to deal with their individual health problems apparently didn’t hurt either.

Now they hope to make medical marijuana legal in all 50 states. But don’t think they’ve abandoned their white supremacist roots entirely: there’s still some of that classic Prussian Blue Holocaust-denial left in the two sisters. “I think certain things happened. I think a lot of stories got misconstrued,” explains Lynx. Lamb thoughtfully adds, “I just think everyone needs to frickin’ get over it.” It seems medical marijuana doesn’t solve every problem.
