10 Times Emily Dickinson Was Fantastically Creepy, Illustrated By Addams Family Gifs

by Katherine Barner

Emily Dickinson was the ultimate mystery artist. While she was alive, no one knew much about her — she was an introvert who secluded herself in her bedroom, overlooking a burial ground. She watched as the dead were buried from her window daily. Dickinson did not see many people on a regular basis and those who came into her life made a deep and profound impact. This and the constant presence of death were immensely evident in her writing. It is only appropriate that we celebrate Emily Dickinson during the year of the 130th anniversary of her death, given her fascination with all things melancholy — and it makes even more sense to celebrate it with the our favorite creepy TV family: the Addams Family.
