At this week’s Converse: Three Artists, One Song show in Brooklyn, there were incredible mash-up performances by Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij from Vampire Weekend, and Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast. The unlikely combination of sweet ballad singing, rapping, and poppy/punky guitar playing made for an incredible summer song that anyone would love, and should push “California Gurls” out of the water.
