Ann Magnuson returns to NYC! With Dueling Harps!

by Helen

The amazing, BUST loving, performance artist Ann Magnuson is returning to NYC after nine years to bring us her newest performance piece DUELING HARPS.  In the piece Ann Magnuson and Adam Dugas battle it out vocally over the musical accompaniment of harps played by Mia Theodoratus and Alexander Rannie. Their melodic ammo includes familiar sounds from the likes of Henry Purcell’s Baroque art songs, Kraftwerk, Buffy St. Marie, Lee Hazlewood, and Pink Floyd, as well as original songs by Magnuson and Dugas. The night will be full of music, drama, comedy, outlandish costumes, and even puppetry created by Robin Walsh. The show is making its New York Premier October 14th at the Abrons Art Center. Tickets are $20 and if you want to find out more click here.

Also! Here is a trailer for the show complete with audio commentary by the many voices of Ann herself.
