Alexander McQueen: ‘Savage Beauty’ Exhibit and 2011 Met Gala

by Kristina Uriegas-Reyes

As much as I loved the excitement of McQueen on Middleton, the fashion from last night’s opening of the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition in conjunction with the annual Met Gala is more exciting to me than all the royal wedding dresses or oscar gowns in the world! You see less celebs playing it safe and instead bringing real glamour to the red carpet. I’m glad to see that just because it’s spring, the time of simple, flirty frocks, everyone still brought the drama. I’m a sucker for sparkles and feathers and was not disappointed by the amount! Some wore McQueen as a tribute, such Daphne Guinness, Anna Della Russo, and Sarah Jessica Parker, but other heavy hitters included Chanel, Stella McCartney, Marchesa, and Michael Kors.

Check out some of my favorites. Above is BUST cover girl Liv Tyler in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci and below is Michelle Williams in custom Mui Mui. Love!
